What does Woodside Home offer?
Sofas, love seats, recliners, chairs, tables, accents, dining rooms, bedrooms, kid’s rooms, home theatre, custom window treatments, area rugs, art, mirrors, lighting, accessories, design advice…all at great prices.
Is Woodside Home a regular furniture store?
Not really. Our inviting showroom is filled with lots of samples but most of what we do is custom orders. This provides you with endless options and helps keep our prices low. We’re design oriented and friendly; we won’t follow you around with a clip board or pressure you into buying something to meet a sales quota. We don’t have a mascot with a large head. We do have great products, incredible prices and personal service.
How is Woodside Home different than buying on the internet?
When furniture shopping, you’ll find great prices on the internet AND at Woodside Home. However, the similarities end there. When you buy from Woodside Home you’re supporting a local business. You’ll also receive personal service, design advice, endless options, and a commitment to your satisfaction.
How does Woodside Home offer such great prices on high quality merchandise?
We keep overhead low with a small showroom. Being open limited hours and by appointment saves us a lot and we pass those savings on to you.
When is Woodside Home open?
By appointment, Tuesday-Saturday. You can click the Appointments tab at the top of the page to schedule a visit. We participate in First Fridays on Main Street, please visit us the first Friday of each month from 6:00 – 9:00 in the evening. And we’re always open durning town events.
Where should I park when visiting Woodside Home?
There’s often parking on Main Street. The best bet is to turn up the drive just west of our store, park around back and take the steps down to Main Street from the parking lot.
Is there any obligation when making an appointment?
What If I live in another state?
No problem! Much of what we do is “design online,” even locally. With a conversation, some measurements, and photos we can save you time and offer an end result that both you and your wallet will love. We can arrange for white glove delivery in the continental United States.
Why “Woodside Home?”
This business started back in 1997 as The Furniture Solution in the Oella Mill. It evolved into Tracey Davidson Interiors when the owner needed to work from home to be present for her family. When it came time to open this store The Furniture Solution name was in use by another business. Nest, Habitat, Abode, Homefront – the owner considered all of these looking for a name that evoked “home”. To her, the idea of “home” is epitomized by the house she grew up in on Woodside Avenue. A place where everyone was welcomed with a friendly face and delicious food; a house filled with comfortable furnishings and beautiful art; a home surrounded by lovely gardens.
What about the owner of Woodside Home?
Tracey Davidson grew up in a home that her mother filled with art and art books. There was always a project – sewing, painting, mosaics, gardening – in the works. It was there that she developed her love of textiles and design. Ms. Davidson received her BA in Art/Textiles and Business from Eastern Washington University. Her work has been featured in seven Baltimore Symphony Decorator Show Houses, Window and Wall Magazine, Style Magazine, the Baltimore Sun, five Historic Ellicott City Decorator Show Houses as well as beautiful homes in Maryland, Virginia, Washington DC, New York, Florida, North Carolina, Colorado, and Saudi Arabia. She is very excited to make Woodside Home a part of Sykesville’s Main Street!
Will I enjoy visiting Sykesville?
Of course we think you’ll enjoy visiting Woodside Home. But you can also walk along a charming Main Street and shop for antiques, cool cowboy boots, designer clothing, and more. You can spend a quiet moment looking over the scenic river, hear the train come through town, and have maybe the best cup of coffee in Maryland. So, YES!
