Inspiration for interior spaces can be found anyplace.  The newest member of our household is Trouble, a Tan rabbit.  I won’t talk about how she got her name.  But looking at her beautifully colored, glossy coat  I think she’s the perfect inspiration for a warm and cozy room…….

A sure sign of spring in Howard County is the opening of Whittaker’s Flowers in West Friendship.   Dennis Whittaker opened his greenhouse and nursery back in the early seventies.  For the past few years he’s opened only on weekends from April through June, “keeping his feet in the best of both worlds, retirement and work”.  I’m not the only area resident who is glad that he’s continuing to stay open.  Whittaker’s is a charming and friendly place filled with great annuals, perennials, vegetables, and herbs at really fair prices.  The knowledge of plants and gardening expertise Mr. Whittaker so generously shares is icing on the cake.   It’s the first place I head when it’s time to decorate our outdoor living spaces with colorful flowers.

The quote “Every time you spend money, you’re casting a vote for the kind of world you want” keeps popping up lately.  I vote for Whittaker’s and places like it.  I hope you’ll pay them a visit, they’re located at the intersection of 144 and Sand Hill Road in West Friendship.
